Estimated and then correct if needed
I hardly go out for dinner but if i do i estimate what i get and add a dose later if needed
Inject before each course
If it’s a new restaurant to me I would inject between main course & dessert.
If it’s a chain pub & I can check the cho values before I start eating then an injection before the meal comes.
I tend to do multiple injections and wait for food to be in front of me
First I calculate the carbs from the plate, then the insulin.
…for each course…
Normally inject course by course
I would normally have a small dose and wait until I get my meal just incase I don’t eat it all or are not happy with it, if all is good I then take the rest.
The easiest way to be safe is to do 2 injections, 1 for starter and 1 for main.
If I have a three course meal
I would usually do two injections
One for starter & one for main
I would normally miss out on desert
